Your child has up to 6 months to visit the dentist following the appearance of their first tooth. This recommendation is provided by The Canadian Dental Association.

Firstly, bite on clean gauze to halt the bleeding, then place your tooth in a container of milk or saline. Alternatively, you can place your tooth under your tongue. Be sure to visit your dentist in Winnipeg within an hour of the accident.

Your dentist can provide you with specific recommendations for this. Generally, use a soft bristle toothbrush and toothpaste that contains fluoride for strengthening and protecting your teeth. When choosing dental products always search for the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) Seal of Acceptance.

Our dental clinic in Winnipeg reserves the right to charge up to $200 for all missed and short notice cancellation appointments.

Please be advised that all duplicate receipts requested incur a fee of $10 per patient, per year. This is because of administrative expenses and book keeping expenses that need to be recorded in the accounting software. Applicable to both paper & digital version of receipts.

Short notice ( within 5 business days) cancellation of Sedation( General Anesthesia & IV sedation) appointments incur a fee of $500 per appointment. This is because the Anaesthetist and nurses still have to be paid for their time.

You should visit your dentist every six months at the minimum. However, every patient is different and some may need to visit more sooner. Your dentist can discuss the frequency of scheduling dental visits with you in more detail at your next appointment.

Brush your teeth at least two times per day to keep your teeth and overall mouth clean. Make sure you are brushing for at least two minutes—at the very least. Also, don’t forget to brush your tongue!

Gum disease or periodontal disease forms when plaque and bacteria buildup. When the buildup is not treated early enough, it can lead to advanced gum disease. This can result in tooth and bone loss. To prevent gum disease or reverse it while still in its early stage, practice good oral care and visit your dentist ever six months for dental cleanings and exams.

Adults and children should replace their manual toothbrush every three months. If you use an electric toothbrush, you may not need to change the head as frequently so be sure to read the directions.

There is currently a 3% surcharge on all payments made with credit card. We do not currently accept American Express at this time.

Zoom in office whitening bookings require $100 non refundable deposit at the time of booking. This is non refundable if the appointment is missed or cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment. This is because special staff needs to be scheduled for these procedures.

We are also now following all BC provincial health orders to provide additional levels of protection to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our staff team to control community transmission. Our practice is committed to patient and staff safety. We follow the high standards set by BC public health officials and our regulatory body, and strictly adhere to proper safety procedures to lower the risk of COVID-19 transmission, in and out of the office including  physical distancing, enhanced use of PPE and hand hygiene, and screening our staff and patients for COVID-19 symptoms. We have new rules and protocols in place to keep patients, staff and dentists protected. Here is what you can expect when you come in for your appointment:

OUR NEW SAFETY & HEALTH PROTOCOL:

  • Pre-screening patients before they come into our office.
  • All staff patients are checked daily including the use of an infrared thermometer to take their temperatures.
  • Implementation of social distancing rules and limited people and staff allowed inside the office.
  • Patients could be asked to wait outside before their appointment time.
  • Wearing a masks is required before entering our office we will provide masks for all patients that do not have one before entering our office.
  • Staff are required to wash their hands between patients and areas of the office are sanitized frequently.
  • PLEXI-GLASS shields are utilized at the reception desk and iPads will be covered with a plastic screen and changed after each use.
  • Each operatory is closed off from the other to ensure adequate distancing while receiving treatment.
  • In-place aerosol reduction methods.
  • Staff are required to wear m95 masks.
  • We do not charge for additional PPE fees.
